What She Read

Her hands trembled.
Were these words really his?
Why would he scrawl them
In the margins of a book?
She flipped the pages
And read, by moonlight,
The pain and heartache
He had spilled on the pages,
Seeking comfort
In a stranger's sympathy.
Long into the night,
She read his story.
She ached for him.
She cried as she read
The smudged ink,
Telling tales of lost friends,
and a mother's passing.
In the daylight,
He looked so bold,
but was shattered inside.
So, when she saw him alone
the next day after classes,
behind the school building,
She ran to him, and held him,
and cried the tears
that he couldn't.

More Poems

Where?

"Lone little sparrow, where do you fly?
When my leaves are all gone,
You fly away, from both the cold,
And me, you leave me alone.
But I do not mind at all, for I,
I have lived a hundred years,
or so,And I know that you'll be back again.
I am strong, anchient, and stoic,
And you, you are young and flighty.
But still I ponder, where do you fly?
What do you see there, wherever you go?
Who do you meet? Please tell.
For though I am strong, I am rooted,
Stuck in the ground here and only here.
And, though you are young and fragile,
You are free to fly anywhere you please.
So diffrent, yet still together near always,
We're an odd pair, you and I,"
Said the tree to the sparrow.

Ink & Blood

I could be cut
A thousand times
For a thousand reasons
And I would still
Bleed ink.
Ink that bends,
Twists, and curls,
Becoming the words
That, both, sooth pain
And sting my foes.
I could be cut
A thousand times
For a thousand reasons
And I would still
Bleed ink.

Poems

Hey all, I decided to post some more of my work here for you guys to read.

Insomnia

Snow falls, relentlessly,
Unceasingly, a storm
Outside my window,
And the clouds
Blot out the moon.
Pitch black, sable night,
Total darkness.
And in the darkness,
The shadows creep,
And steal the sleep
From my eyes.
Again and again,
My lamp flashes on,
Glowing dull yellow,
And chasing them away,
Only delaying
Their return.

Happy to be Awake

During the day,
they sleep
in the sky,
invisible,
untouchable.
But when night
comes once more,
The stars come out
and dance again,
celebrating
nothing at all,
they're just happy
to be awake.

Poetry

Hey all, Just so you know I love to write and read poetry, I now present Lifegaurding.
(Its a lymric kinda thing)

Summers spent
By the poolside
Watching kids
Swim and splash,
And pretty girls
Tanning under the sun.
Ah, the burdens,
of being a lifegaurd.
